Most of the discussions in this class were called fish bowls. Newcombe would give us a question and the class would spend time discussing it. If the conversation died a little then she'd give us a new question. I never really spoke during the fish bowls very much unless I was addressed directly.. I think this is because I'm just more of an observer.. but the fish bowls were very interesting.
